This view provides information for each region in a heap.  This helps with more thorough analysis of how efficiently your application is using the heap.  Pay special attention to regions that have large Virtual Commit values compared to Total In Use Blocks.

 

Heap regions

 

Region Columns

 

Base Address: the virtual address of the beginning of the region.
Virtual Size: the virtual size of the region.
Virtual Commit: the amount of virtual memory committed for the region.
In Use Blocks: the number of blocks allocated in the region.
Big Blocks: the number of big blocks allocated in the region.
Total In Use Blocks: the total size of all the In Use blocks in the region.
Largest In Use Block: the size of the largest In Use block in the region.
Smallest In Use Block: the size of the smallest In Use block in the region.
Free Blocks: the number of Free blocks in the region.
Total Free Blocks: the total size of all the Free blocks in the region.
Largest Free Block: the size of the largest Free block in the region.
Smallest Free Block: the size of the smallest Free block in the region.

 

NOTE: Advanced heap statistics for kernel processes are not available in Windows CE 6.0 and higher.
